Rant: Celebrate The Good Things
10-24-2026
I am addicted to reading Dinner Diary subreddits. I have replaced Reels with something much healthier and juicier. Sometimes I wanna scream at the screen for the bullshit these people feed themselves with. I no longer feel like an asshole for being straight edge, but I also don’t feel morally superior either. Whatever saves my face. Whatever keeps me cool. My point is, you don’t need to be rich to not do drugs and be healthy.
Is it cr*nge to be preachy? Yes. Do I give a fuck? Should I give a fuck? Hell no… I’ve built a stronger foundation of identity for myself this year and it all came from the suffering. Suffering that my pride tempts me to wear as a badge. I used to feel GUILTY for feeling empathy for people who used drugs… Cause I was afraid that I was being condescending. That was how far my insecurity issues would go. I could take them even further if I really wanted to, but I know better now. I used to be an emotional sponge for all the bad shit that happened in the world like it was ALL on me. Like I was responsible for everything. I’m so good at hating myself. Generational, even. No one in my immediately family or ancestry is as self-critical, for better or for worse.
But I’m done. Life too short, bro. I’m not about to keep perceiving good shit in my life as bad. I’ll never be happy with any position in life if I keep doing it. Processing bad feelings are important but it gets to a point where the glory and romanticism of suffering is so comforting that you ignore the gut feeling that tells you to start being more wholesome for a change. To starting love yourself and others a little bit more. Or at least to fucking try. I lost the discipline I had in college cause I have nothing to fight for anymore. I have zero clue what I’m fighting for. I’m fighting for building the life I want, I guess.
…Not the one my parents wanted for me, or the one I project society wants from me. God forbid I let social media influence me and make my world smaller. I don’t believe in karma and I don’t believe in fate. So it’s up to me and my ability to ask for help when I need it. Willing to pray every night to a God that I’m not sure exists for all that.
